General

  1. Be respectful and be respected.
  2. No god-moding. Meaning no character is perfect, all powerful, or all knowing and will each have their own flaws.
  3. No power-playing (controlling a character that is not yours) without permission.
  4. Do not steal from anyone – you must have permission to use anything that is not yours.
  5. Please no 'post coming' posts – if you are going to post, post.
  6. Some mild swearing is allowed, but keep it to a minimal if possible.
  7. Try to use proper spelling and grammar (aka. no chat-speak). It's easier to read.
  8. You may join as many characters as you can keep up with, but do not join more than you can handle!
  9. This is a semi-realistic RPG, meaning wolves may speak and be given human personalities but everything else is realisitc.
  10. For reference sake and for the purpose of time frames - 1 season = approx. 60 days/2 months.
  11. This is a beginner-friendly game. There is no post limit as long as you strive to improve.
  12. Most of all, HAVE FUN! This is a game!

Joining

  1. Magic and unnatural coat colors are not allowed.
  2. Only the alpha and beta stallions may claim within a herd, others must be appointed to do so. This also applies to steals and challenges when it comes to the possession of mares.
  3. Herdless stallions may claim mares, but no more than 2 until they have herd. These mares may also be stolen, challenged for, or escape.
  4. Lone stallions may form a small bachelor group and 'harrass' other horses and/or herds.
  5. Two stallions may share a territory if they wish, though it is uncommon.
  6. Only 1 herd-owning stallion per player.
  7. If a lead stallion has not posted in his herd within two weeks without posting as away, another stallion may take the land from him.

Bachelors

  1. Any herdless stallion or colt over the age of 1 may live in the bachelor herd - but none may be forced to join.
  2. Any stallion of this group can claim, steal, or challenge for a mare to bring home.
  3. Mares and fillies over the age of 1 may be held against their will for a maximum of one full season (~ 60 days) from the time that the bachelors came into possession of the mare. It is the bachelor's choice.
  4. The bachelors may treat the mares however they like or see fit. The mares are at their mercy.
  5. A mare or filly who has just been released cannot be reclaimed by the bachelors for 1 full month if she remains herdless. However once she joins or rejoins a herd, she may be challenged for or stolen, since it is then her stallion's duty to protect her.
  6. Other stallions cannot free these females for the duration of the first ~ 30 days in her time with the bachelors.
  7. Leading the Bachelor herd will not count towards your maximum of 1 herd owning stallion.

Mares

  1. Fillies are mares at the age of 3.
  2. Any mare can be claimed, whether she's wants to be or not.
  3. Mares have the right to refuse a stallion, unless they have been claimed.
  4. Mares cannot leave their herd unless they escape, are set free, stolen, or won in battle by another stallion.
  5. A herd may be led by a mare, in the absence of a lead stallion - but may be challenged by a stallion for rank and may be more easily defeated.

Foals

  1. A foal is any horse under the age of 3.
  2. Foals cannot battle.
  3. Foals cannot breed.
  4. Preference is that you age them as realistically as possible, but you may age them faster after they are 1 real month old.
  5. Orphaned or abandoned foals may go to Foal Forest to be adopted.

Breeding

  1. Any horse over the age of 3 may breed.
  2. Breeding may only occur during spring and summer.
  3. Stats/short breeding is preferred. Censorship is a plus.
  4. Forcebreeding is allowed and this is the only time that stallions have the right to powerplay (just a little).
  5. If a mare posts her stats before her chosen stallion's, she may be forcebred.
  6. Mares may only breed once a breeding season; stallions may breed as many times as they'd like.
  7. A mare will be pregnant for a minimum of 30 days and may give birth anywhere. If you so incline, she may be pregnant for longer, but no more than one in-game year.
  8. A mare may abandon her foal if she does not want it. Then it must find another mare to adopt it.
  9. Twins are rare but possible.
  10. Gender, color, and health will be given to the new foal when it is born.

Fighting

  1. Fighting may happen for any reason, such as: dominance, rights to mares, territories, or simply just for practice and bragging rights.
  2. Stallions may challenge for up to 2 mares at a time - including when challenging for a territory.
  3. Mares can only fight other mares unless they are challenging for their freedom.
  4. Battles must be posted in Fighting Falls, but they may theoretically occur in any land for roleplay purposes.
  5. Roleplay battles do not have to be judged by a staff member, so long as the winner can be decided on civilly by the players. Do not abuse this privilege or it will be taken away! If you would like a staff member to pick a winner instead, simply put "Judge" in the subject when your battle is complete.
  6. Dice battles must be conducted by an appointed staff member.
  7. If either opponent does not post within 7 days, it is considered an automatic forfeit.
  8. A stallion or mare whose player is currently away cannot be challenged.
  9. A lead stallion may allow his Beta to ‘handle’ his territory in his absence (such as answering to challenges and steals), however there is no guarantee that he will have a territory or all of his mares to return to. This is up to the player of the stallion.
  10. Horses must play out their injuries, during and after a fight.
  11. A horse may only be in a battle once every 2 weeks.
  12. If a horse is successfully won in a battle then they cannot be the target of another challenge or steal for a minimum of 2 weeks.
  13. If a mare wins her freedom, her stallion cannot force her to return.
  14. If a mare is won in battle, her foals under the age of 1 must accompany her to the new territory.

Stealing & Escaping

  1. Stallions may attempt to steal 1 mare at a time at the Shores.
  2. Only one steal or escape attempt per horse, per week.
  3. Mares may also attempt to sneak away from her stallion to freedom.
  4. Horses post an anonymous riddle, poem, or paragraph giving hints about who they are, who they are stealing from, or escaping from, etc.
  5. Lead stallions and/or their beta stallions must catch these sneaky horses within 3 days time (72 hours), or lose a mare.
  6. Thieving stallions and escaping mares must explain their hints to be considered successful after time is up.
  7. A horse whose player is currently away cannot be stolen from or escaped from.
  8. If a mare that is stolen or has escaped has a foal under the age of 1, then the foal must also go with her.
  9. If a horse is successfully stolen or has escaped then they cannot be the target of another steal or challenge for a minimum of 2 weeks.
  10. You do not have to wait for these to be 'judged' as long as the parties involved have no arguments, but they will be monitored by staff to be sure you are following the rules.
  11. Please put the word pudding somewhere in your joining post to let us know that you have seen (and hopefully read) the rule page.

If you have any questions or need a rule clarified, please ask the admin or staff.
